Topic: Common Foot Problems You Can Actually Prevent

Love to Share Foundation America’s Community Walk with a Doc brought together a small group of community members for an informative morning walk and conversation with Dr. Chandana Halaharvi, Foot and Ankle Surgeon.

Dr. Halaharvi emphasized a simple but important message: our feet are the foundation of our body, and taking care of them can make a significant difference to our overall mobility and well-being. She explained that many common foot problems are preventable with good everyday habits.

One of the key points of the discussion was the importance of wearing properly fitting and supportive footwear. The right shoes can provide better support and help reduce unnecessary stress on the feet, ankles, and lower extremities, especially during walking and exercise.

The conversation also focused on stretching before and after physical activity. Community members shared their own experiences and asked questions about foot discomfort, exercise, footwear, and stretching. The small-group setting made the session especially interactive, giving participants an opportunity to have an open and practical conversation with Dr. Halaharvi.

The morning concluded with a community walk—a fitting reminder that healthy feet help keep us moving.

We sincerely thank Dr. Chandana Halaharvi for sharing her time and expertise and all our community members who joined us, asked questions, and shared their experiences.
